Crafting for Good

Crafting for Good

Crafting for Good is a way for you to get creative and provide comfort to patients and their families through heartfelt stitched, crocheted, or knitted donations.

From bonding hearts for parents and babies on the Jessop Wing, to Forget-Me-Nots for a loved one, your crafted gift will be used where it is needed most across Sheffield Teaching Hospitals.

To ensure that your time and handmade gifts are put to good use, please read the guidelines below for each design and be mindful of these when you make your crafty donation.

Once you’ve finished crafting, you can donate your creations by either sending them by post, or arrange a time to drop them off directly with us at the charity. We would really appreciate if you could please provide your name, address, phone number, and email address along with your lovely donation. This is so that we can keep track of what you’ve donated and send you information about how your crafts have helped people across the hospitals.

Christmas knitting appeal

We're inviting you to get creative and join our Christmas campaign supporting Jessop Maternity Wing.

We're looking for knitted/crocheted baby mittens, booties, or hats to decorate iconic Sheffield Christmas trees throughout December. In January, these special knits will be donated to the Jessop Wing for new babies and their families.

What to Knit

Items: Baby mittens, booties, or hats. As these knits will first be used as Christmas decorations, please ensure you: Knit on an extra hanging loop (about 3 inches/7.5 cm) so we can easily hang the item on the tree and attach booties or mittens together as a pair using this hanging loop.

Colors: Please use our brand colors: lilac, yellow, baby blue, baby pink, or mint green.

We need all the creations to be with us by 26th November, please either send these to the charity by post or drop them off at our offices. If you’ve got any questions about Crafting for Good, get in touch with our crafty expert carly.richards@shct.nhs.uk. Our address is:

Sheffield Hospitals Charity,
Office SE6,
Leah's Yard
20 Cambridge Street,
Sheffield,
S1 4HP

Help us decorate iconic Sheffield trees with gorgeous knitted items for new babies, which will be donated to the Jessop Wing after the Christmas period.
