We’re so excited to have worked with Sheffield artist and illustrator Lisa Maltby on a very special project, supporting our No Woman Left Behind campaign.
Known for her purposeful illustrations, Lisa created a beautiful, limited-edition tote bag especially for us, inspired by our work to tackle women’s health inequalities across Sheffield. We’re incredibly grateful that she has chosen to lend her creativity and support to a campaign that means so much to us.
Women’s health inequalities affect women at every stage of their lives, and there are still areas where more support, understanding and investment are needed.
Through No Woman Left Behind, we’re shining a light on some of these inequalities and supporting projects across Sheffield that aim to make a real difference.
From supporting women during pregnancy and beyond, to helping NHS staff impacted by domestic abuse our campaign is about making sure women have the care, support and opportunities they need.
We love that the tote bag gives people a little piece of Sheffield creativity to carry with them, while also helping to start conversations about women’s health and the work happening across our city. We couldn’t think of anyone better than Lisa to help us tell that story.
“When I was asked to design something for the ‘No Woman Left Behind’ campaign, it really resonated with me because, like so many women and girls, I know how important it is to feel heard, seen and understood when it comes to our health and wellbeing.
"That’s what gave me the idea for the tote bag design. I used a paper-cutting method to reveal figures of women in the negative spaces that are cut away – they take a second look to notice.
"I created this tote design not only as something people would love to carry, but as a way to start conversations and encourage people to look a little closer at the experiences of women and girls. I hope it helps raise awareness, sparks important conversations and raises funds for Sheffield Hospitals Charity, helping make sure no woman is left behind.”
We’re hugely grateful to Lisa for supporting our work and helping us bring No Woman Left Behind to life in such a stand out way.
