Baby Loss Awareness Week creative sessions at Meadowhall

Baby Loss Awareness Week creative sessions at Meadowhall

The Arts in Health team from Sheffield Teaching Hospitals will be joined by the Jessop Bereavement Services team at Meadowhall

To mark Baby Loss Awareness Week 2025, Sheffield Hospitals Charity are proud to fund special jewellery-making sessions in Meadowhall Shopping Centre on the 9th, 10th and 15th October. The Arts in Health team from Sheffield Teaching Hospitals will be delivering the sessions and will be supporting the Jessop Bereavement Services team. Their stand can be found near M&S in Meadowhall, and the sessions will be running between 10am-4pm.

The Jessop Bereavement Services team will be on hand in the shopping centre to talk, advise and listen to anyone who would like their support. Visitors have the opportunity to create a beautiful bracelet to remember a baby special to them. The activity is inspired by Arts in Health's 'Don't Hush' sessions which were recently run to support families affected by baby loss.

Mir Jansen, Arts Coordinator from the Arts in Health team, said, “Our Arts in Health ‘Don’t Hush’ sessions bring parents who have experienced baby loss together with different staff teams who play a vital role in supporting these parents.  Doing something creative together makes it easier to share difficult stories.”

The charity is grateful to all those involved in the running of the sessions.

Meadowhall will light up their distinctive domes blue and pink to mark the week.

The initiative is just one of a number of activities Meadowhall has supported the charity with during their 35th birthday year. Sheffield Hospitals Charity is the shopping centre's Charity of the Year for 2025.
