An employee of Spectris has successfully nominated Sheffield Hospitals Charity to receive a donation of £5,000 from The Spectris Foundation

Rob Littlewood works for an operating company in the Spectris PLC operating group and employees can nominate any charity of their choice, as part of The Spectris Foundations small grants scheme. As someone who was looked after by the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Jessop Hospital over 40 years ago, he wanted to say thank you.

Rob said, “I nominated this cause because when I was born 43 years ago, I was born 10 weeks early and was cared for in the Sheffield NICU. My family and I will be forever grateful for the care I received. I wanted the donation to be a way of saying a huge thank you, not only for myself but also the thousands of premature and sick babies that have been cared for on the unit over the years.

I am delighted and proud that The Spectris Foundation have been able to award the full grant of £5,000. The charity provides vital equipment, resources, and support for poorly babies and their parents at a time when they need it most. I am pleased we can help with this and make a difference.”

Rebecca Levy, The Spectris Foundation Director said: “The Spectris Foundation Ambassadors could see the vital impact a grant would have on the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Jessop Wing in Sheffield. The maximum grant of £5,000 to Sheffield Hospitals Charity was decided upon due to Rob’s personal experience with the hospital.”
