Delivering Christmas Cheer to Sheffield’s NHS

Delivering Christmas Cheer to Sheffield’s NHS

Thanks to supporters, the charity could deliver gifts in December to staff and patients across Sheffield Teaching Hospitals and Sheffield Health and Social Care. Lots of lovely gifts and hampers have been gifted to staff, patients and service-users across the Trusts who’ll be away from loved ones on Christmas Day.

Christmas is a time for spending with family and friends but unfortunately many people don’t have that choice and the charity aim to spread a bit of joy at a difficult time for many.

Sam Coggeran, a member of staff at Royal Hallamshire Hospital, said:

“Patients became emotional and tearful when they received their gift. It’s incredible that such a small gesture can have such an enormous impact on someone’s life and sense of worth. I felt very humbled by the whole experience.”

Several of the deliveries were to areas where staff are caring for patients living with dementia. To donate to our Christmas campaign to help people in Sheffield live better with dementia, click here.
