Members of Hallamshire Golf Club have shown their generous support by raising an impressive £3,061.38 for Sheffield Hospitals Charity, helping to fund vital dementia projects across Sheffield.
The charity was proudly chosen as the Charity of the Year by Hallamshire Golf Club captains, Phil Rodrigo and Jayne Conboye. On 18th July 2025, the captains presented a cheque to the charity in recognition of the incredible fundraising efforts by the club’s members throughout the year.
Phil expressed his heartfelt thanks to everyone involved:
Thank you to all the Hallamshire members for their generous donations over the course of the year. I have been a supporter of Sheffield Hospitals Charity for a number of years and appreciate the work they do to support residents from the South Yorkshire region from birth to end of life and everything in between. My focus has been on dementia for the last years, in memory of my mum and all the people in the wards around her who have given our region so much during their earlier lives. We should make sure that their final years are supported with the dignity and care that they deserve.”
Lady Captain Jayne added, “It was a privilege to support Sheffield Hospitals Charity during captains' year. Dementia is incredibly difficult for all it touches, and I am pleased to be part of the fundraising. Thank you to everyone who contributed.”
