Installation of new Master Cutler Phil Rodrigo

Installation of new Master Cutler Phil Rodrigo

The installation of the new Master Cutler, Phil Rodrigo took place on Tuesday 1st October with a ceremony held at Cutler’s Hall and a service in Sheffield Cathedral.

The Master Cutler acts as an ambassador of industry and highlighted his focus on sustainable manufacturing in the region.

Sheffield Hospitals Charity was also announced as the Master Cutler’s chosen charity with the overarching ambition of helping people live better with dementia.

SHC have been supporting dementia work for many years and are committed to funding further projects that will help to keep people with dementia independent for as long as possible and to receive the best care in our hospitals.

As is now tradition, the Master Cutler sets a challenge which has become one of the largest fundraising events in the region, raising an incredible amount of money for local causes. Companies, organisations and individuals who sign up to the challenge are given £50 as a starter seed fund. They are challenged to grow this into a bigger amount of money which in turn is donated to the Master Cutler’s chosen charity – this coming year that’s Sheffield Hospitals Charity!

Thanks to Phil and Giselle Rodrigo, Master and Mistress Cutler, for their incredible support.
