United in helping people live better with dementia

Sheffield Hospitals Charity teamed up with Sheffield United Football Club to raise funds and awareness for dementia care in Sheffield.

On Saturday 14th December, the Blades hosted Plymouth Argyle as well as some very special guests in the Blades Care box.

Invited guests included dementia carers and people living with dementia from across Sheffield, who received a tour of the Lane before watching the 2-0 victory.

The charity are committed to helping people live better with dementia in Sheffield. From providing specialist training and improving in-hospital experiences to helping people in local communities stay independent for longer.

Amber Danks, Dementia Quality Improvement Lead at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, said:

“I came with my Grandad who’s living with dementia at the moment. Football is everything he loves. He was over the moon, and he couldn’t believe the view. It was just nice to see him so happy.”

The total raised on the day was £962. Thank you to the volunteers, Sheffield United Football Club and their fans for making this possible and for their support of Sheffield Hospitals Charity.

It is still possible to donate and help people in Sheffield live better with dementia.
