Proud to be charity partner for the Medilink Healthcare Business Awards 2026

We’re delighted to share that we have been named as the official charity partner for the Medilink North of England Healthcare Business Awards 2026; a flagship event in the region’s life sciences calendar that celebrates excellence, innovation and collaboration across the healthcare sector.

This year’s awards will be particularly special, as Medilink North of England marks its 30th anniversary, celebrating three decades of supporting growth, innovation and partnership within the life sciences community.

The awards will take place on 30 April at Cutlers' Hall, bringing together leaders from industry, academia and the NHS for an evening that recognises the very best achievements from the past year. We’re especially touched that all funds raised on the night will go towards supporting our work, helping us continue to make a difference for patients, families and NHS staff across Sheffield.

We’re also thrilled to see innovation we have supported being recognised on this prestigious stage. The Minuteful for Wound App has been shortlisted in the Healthcare Business Awards “Advances in the Digital Healthcare” category. This groundbreaking initiative was funded by us through our Dragons’ Den Innovation Fund, which supports pioneering ideas that improve patient care and NHS services. Seeing this project shortlisted is a fantastic example of how charitable funding can help bring transformative healthcare solutions to life.

Our Director of Fundraising, Greg van Heeswijk, said:
“We’re delighted to be the charity partner for the Medilink North of England Healthcare Business Awards, especially in such a landmark year. Medilink’s commitment to collaboration between industry, academia and the NHS mirrors our own belief that partnership is essential to improving patient care. The support we receive from partners like Medilink makes a real and lasting difference to patients, families, and NHS staff across our city. We are so very grateful for their support.”

Speaking about the partnership, Richard Stubbs, Chief Executive Officer at Health Innovation Yorkshire & Humber and an ambassador for the charity, added, “Medilink is such an important part of the UK’s health innovation ecosystem. It is fantastic to be holding this year’s awards back in Sheffield where it all began, recognising how Medilink grew into an organisation that now has a significant global reach and impact. Well done to everyone who has contributed to three decades of success. I look forward to celebrating this special occasion, delighted to be sponsoring this years’ Innovation Award and continuing to support this incredible local charity.”

We’re looking forward to an inspiring evening that not only celebrates innovation but also helps raise funds for our local NHS. Good luck to all the fantastic nominees, and you can find out more about the impact of the Wound Management Application here.
