Every day, Sheffield’s NHS teams are finding new ways to improve care, save time and transform lives. But great ideas need backing.
We’re proud to launch Sheffield Dragons, a new membership network that brings together businesses and individuals who want to make a difference to healthcare in our city.
Sheffield Dragons will help us to fund innovative projects that can make a real difference to patients, families and NHS staff, while connecting with a community of like-minded businesses and healthcare leaders.
We’ve been working in partnership with Sheffield Teaching Hospitals (STH) for several years now to support the Dragons’ Den Innovation fund. STH staff are invited to pitch their innovative ideas to a panel of experts. They are judged on what impact their ideas could have for patients and staff and what different outcomes could be delivered for the Trust.
The Dragons’ Den Innovation fund gives people working within our hospitals the opportunity to develop ideas in an environment where innovation and testing might not otherwise get a chance.
We’ve seen some real successes because of the fund and want to give it a long-term sustainable future so that Sheffield’s NHS can do more.
This year we want to make £150,000 available to successful applicants to support their projects. By combining the expertise of NHS clinicians and staff with charitable funding, the initiative helps ideas that might otherwise remain on paper to be tested and delivered, demonstrating what can happen when organisations and individuals invest in innovation within the NHS.
We’re inviting businesses and individuals to get involved by becoming a Sheffield Dragon. There are three membership levels available, Bronze, Silver and Gold, giving people the opportunity to invest in healthcare in a way that works for them.
