Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we helped fund the helipad at the Northern General Hospital ten years ago. A project that has powerfully changed what “time” means for patients in their most critical moments.
We think of the calls no one ever forgets: a sudden accident, a serious injury, a family waiting for news. In those moments, every minute matters. The helipad means that when patients arrive by air ambulance, they can reach the Major Trauma Centre faster, getting to specialist care without unnecessary delay.
Before it existed, patients often had to be transferred again by road from a more distant landing site, adding precious minutes at the wrong time. Now, they come closer and quicker to the teams ready to fight for their lives.
Over the past decade, we’ve seen hundreds of people and families rely on this in their time of need. Behind each one is a team ready to act the moment they arrive.
As we mark 10 years of the helipad, we’re proud of what our supporters made possible. It’s a reminder that when our community comes together, we don’t just fund projects. We help give people the best possible chance when they need it most.
