Sheffield United is delighted to confirm a partnership between United's women's team and Sheffield Hospitals Charity for the upcoming Subway Women's League Cup match against Liverpool.
Sheffield Hospitals Charity are raising funds to support mums and babies at Jessop Maternity Wing. From providing accommodation so parents can be near their baby on the neonatal intensive care unit, funding a family support nurse and providing special memory making activities your support will make a huge difference.
One of the club's nominated charities, they will provide card and cash bucket collections in the build-up to the match on both the concourse and in the hospitality areas, while the squad will wear limited edition Straight Outta Jessops warm-up shirts.
The club will also donate 250 tickets for the match to NHS staff working for Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, as well as a table for the charity in one of Bramall Lane's hospitality suites.
Speaking about the partnership, Aaron Little, Head of Women's and Girls' Football at the club, said, "Sheffield United Football Club is incredibly honoured to be supporting Sheffield Hospitals Charity and the vital work they do across our city - particularly through Jessop Maternity Wing, which holds a special place in the hearts of so many families in Sheffield.
"By dedicating our Subway Women's League Cup fixture against Liverpool to this year's Christmas campaign, we hope to both help raise funds and awareness for the incredible care and compassion provided every day at our local hospitals. As a club rooted in the community, we're proud to partner Sheffield Hospitals Charity in making a difference where it matters most."
Beth Crackles, CEO Sheffield Hospitals Charity, added, "Thanks so much to the Sheffield United Women’s team for getting behind our campaign to support Jessop Maternity Wing.
"Every year Jessops look after over 6,500 women from across Sheffield and the wider region and the support of fans and the club means we can provide additional help where it’s needed most."
