Study Leave Grants
Every year we support staff members of Sheffield Teaching Hospitals with over £100,000 of funding for non-essential training and development opportunities.
If you are employed by Sheffield Teaching Hospitals on a permanent contract, you can apply up to £1000 in any financial year.
Applications are open all year round and reviewed within 2-3 weeks.
We encourage interested parties to read the guidance below and to apply at least 6 weeks in advance.
You’ll need:
To fill in an application form with details of the course, training or conference, a breakdown of costs and supporting documents
The name or number of the Special Purpose Fund(s) you’re making an application to. If you do not know this, we’ll assist with you with identifying the Special Purpose Fund(s) linked to your Directorate or signpost you elsewhere.
Please note that we will not be reviewing study leave applications between March 1st and March 31st. We will resume on April 1st, 2026
